I don’t really know what to ramble on right now, since this post is a rush job trying to fill our quota, (yeah, we’re THAT devoted to this thing). We pour ourselves onto the internet for you guys who actually read this. I’m curious as to whom y’all are, but we already love you.
! Idea. Howabout a quick guitar review?
Alright, so I’m looking for a new guitar, and one that really caught my eye is a ‘Simon & Patrick’ guitar. More specifically the Woodland/Satin series models, and even more specific, the CW spruce and the CW folk. I’m more of an folk acoustic guitar player than I am a classical guitar player, so I’d be looking for a guitar that has somewhat more of a twangy sound, and sounds a little harder than your average guitar.
So far I’ve been impressed by the CW spruce a lot. I haven’t actually tried the CW folk (with pickups and electronics) a lot before, so I can’t give my opinions on it. But the cutaway spruce is amazing. For starters, the neck is the perfect size for my hands. It’s not too big, nor’ too small. It gives my hand a break from holding larger necks. If compared to another guitar, it’d be a little smaller than the Art and Lutherie cutaway spruce.
In general aesthetics, the guitar is VERY nice. It’s a lot nicer than a lot of other ones. It doesn’t have a shiny finish on it, but it’s a rather dull finish. It gives the guitar a really nice look. Be careful not to scratch it though, it has that waxy feeling, so something would probably come off. The colours they come in are incredibly nice. I’ve only seen 3 different colours, which are black, brown, and a creamy brown? I think that’s what you’d call it.
The sound that comes out is great. Although it’s just spruce, the guitar sounds better than most spruce guitars. The wood is thicker, so therefore, the sound is ‘thicker’. I don’t know how to explain it, so I won’t. It just sounds better. I guess that’s it for the guitar.
I promise my other guitar review won’t be this shitty in the future. It’s my first review, so I don’t really know what to say about them.
BOTP: Okay, this part of the blog I can’t miss. A lot of people like the new bands I choose out, so I’m not going to screw up this part. For this post, the band is ‘Daphne Loves Derby’. These guys are unsigned, so support them guys. Their website is http://www.myspace.com/daphnelovesderby so check them out.
Anyways, that’s my two sense on things.
