Anyways, on with the blog post, anyways it's been relative uneventful week with a couple Oilers related posts:
-Goodbye Rob "Sugartits" Schremp, the guy has finally moved onto another franchise, in the last team of the 08-09 season, the New York Islander, i think the man will do good there, if present with some good minutes. I'm imagining the idea of "SCHREMP TO TAVARES ... SCORES!" Haha, expecting at least one of those if he sticks with the big club. If he gets waived (again), and sent down, well that just sucks for him.
-Sam"wise" Gagner starting on the 4th line this season - odd move, but i support it, he's one to have slow starts, so this allows him to get into funk without being pressured to score, and he's able to learn a different side to the game as a 4th liner, learns how to play grittier, and add more dimensions to his game as he continues to develop, as he get's better he can take on the role of the 3rd scoring line centre. As Brule slides down with Moreau and Stortini to form the energy/checking line. Brule has impressed, guy maybe small but he's got huge heart, and did a decent job shutting down Vinny Lecavaliere.
Computer post:
AMD/ATI has released their HD5XXX series.
Two words: FUCKING BIG. Like it's a beast, in physical and computing stature, though however with the Nvidia "fermi" 300 series cards coming out ATI will be in the tough to compete without having their pricing modest.
Oh, and if any of you are building computers .. AMD fan boy in me says .. go AMD. (:

3. Amy was a fighter. She cut like Casuis Clay.
4. I coulda', woulda' shoulda' said it back to you. When you said those three words, I kinda' freaked out.
5. All that she wanted, was a man with a dance. A mashing pole. And matching pans. A mini-van.
6. I am the red in the rose, the flowers on the blankets on your bedroom floor. And I am the grey in the ghost that hides with the ghost behind your closet door.
7. I'm not going. Cuz' I've been waiting for a miracle. And I'm not leaving. I won't let you. Let you give up on a miracle.
8. The only thing I can do now is change the way that I used to be. Cuz' now it seems crystal clear to me.

10. And you said we'll get out this time. And you will put your hand in mine. Believe it, we're the kids of yesterday.
11. If this is it, we're dead-set and ready for it. With refusing hands and bomb shelters. We're better and brave and bashful and singing it. (Not accurate, it sounds like it, but they don't have official lyrics online. :P)
12. Hello how are you, like your shoes love your hair. Hello how are you, love that shirt you look great. Hello how are you, love your pants and your smile.
13. Is anybody listening? Can you hear me when I call? I'm shooting signals in the air, cuz' I need somebody's help.
14. You sit there in your heart-ache. Waiting on some beautiful boy to save old ways. You play forgiveness, watch it now, here he comes.

26. I like, where we are, when we drive, in your car. I like, where we are, here.
27. The cold heart will burst. And this is the first. My calm heart will break, when given a shake. I'm lost in love.
28. Playing it safe, he kissed her cheek. Does he still look at you the same way now? The same as 35 years has gone and how?
29. I will try and get on with my life, but i still care for you. Don't leave home. Saying I'll be fine. Yes I may live and get on with some time, but I will not be fine.
30. When I was young, my dad would say, "come on son, let's go out and play". Sometimes it seems like just yesterday. Then I'd climb up the closet shelf, when I was all by myself. I'd grab his hat, and fix the brim, pretending I was him. No matter, how hard I try. No matter, how many tears I cry, no matter, how many years go by. I still can't say goodbye.
Promised
Remember how I promised that I’d do one yesterday? Well! I didn’t lie.
I’ll jump right in since its 1:59am.
I never thought that Boys Like Girls got so much attention, but apparently the song “Two is Better than One” is getting a lot of hype. I mean, I liked it a lot, but man, I didn’t know the rest of the world did. I swear it has to be because of Taylor Swift. Same thing happened with One Republic, once Timbaland ‘touched’ the song, it got a lot of media hype. Now they’re a huge hit. Lucky bastards. I wish Timbaland worked with my band.
I had a lot of ideas for this post a few minutes ago, then I started listening to music, and then continued with my Recombinant DNA Technology worksheet. Man, I absolutely ADORE Google. I found the answers to the worksheet on the internet, so I was saved. Thanks for teachers being unable to be creative and make their own worksheets. Most of the worksheets or assignments I’ve gotten this year can be found on the internet, it’s great. It’s probably part of some teacher assignment swapping thing. Oh well.
I’m curious as to how many people read our blog? I guess I can start an interactive portion here. Send me an e-mail, or post a comment. I’d like to know who you guys are, and what do you guys do? It can be super generic, since I bet it’s either 1 or 2 regulars. I hope there’s a little more. Also, I want to run a long-time thing. If any of you guys have me on Facebook, you might’ve seen the most recent note I posted. It took me a while to make it, so I really wanted people to do it, but nobody really did. That, or nobody was able to do it. But basically, it’s a snip-it of lyrics and then you guess the song name. I’ll use another post to do it, and strike-out the ones that have already been guessed correctly. Put your guesses in the comments section too, or send me an e-mail. I really want to get some e-mails circulating with readers. You can e-mail me at blogspot.fosh@hotmail.com . I just made it, yeah, just to hide my identity. I really want to have a known alias as Fosh. I’ll hook it up to my g-mail account eventually.
Anyways, apart from that, I just downloaded Google Chrome lately. I don’t know what the huge hype about Firefox is, but so far I love Chrome. Personally, I don’t really notice the difference between Firefox and IE, it’s almost the same, except Firefox is more customizable. Chrome, however, has a few cooler features. It has spell check implemented on it. That’s such a useful tool! I don’t have to worry about spelling as much as I do, since I’m only half a grammar Nazi.
The BOTP today...I don’t have one today, honestly. I think this is getting too much anyways. I think I might change it to BOTW (week). If I do one for every post, I’d eventually get to every band, and then it gets stupid after that. I will do a review on the bands that I do too. Maybe I should do a weekly band review...yeah...I will do that. But if we’re doing that, this week I’ll review “Eye Alaska”. They are so damn good. The lead singer wears a backpack on stage though, I think that’s a little weird...
Anyways, that’s my two sense on things.

I'm lazy today. Maybe tomorrow.
Surprisingly the army base is north of the city, and the airport is south ... fun stuff .
Also another footnote regarding the parties: There's those crazy parties where people get piss drunk i just don't think you go to them.

Sentimentality
So I’ve been contemplating what to blog about this week, and I’ve decided on another CD review. But that’s for later. After today, I think I’ll write a little sentimental note, rather than what I first planned. Although since I haven’t posted this week at all so far, I think I’ll do another review in a few hours. After Kayen’s post that is.
So last night, I’ll admit, I was driving after drinking. I only had a few sips, but I was still scared that I was gonna’ get pulled over by the cops. I wasn’t anywhere near ‘tipsy’ or drunk, or anything for that matter. I was still me, able to drive, but I just had some alcohol in my blood. I don’t know how people, who are REALLY wasted, still manage to get in a vehicle. Of all the times I’ve been drunk, I wouldn’t even have been able to walk, yet alone drive. It’s scary the amount of drunk drivers around here, and most of them teenagers. It’s disgusting actually. People who actually do get caught with a high blood alcohol level should get their license removed forever, rather than just a year or two. I’m pretty sure that it would scare a lot of people from drinking and driving.
And last night, for some reason, I realized that High School is never going to be like it is in the movies. There’s not always big house parties, where all your friends get drunk and it looks like a crazy good time. It’s more intimate, with people you do know. That’s what makes it even more fun. So for my 18th, I might not want to mix it with bunch of people, since that would be too huge, and nobody would know eachother. That’d be stupid, really.
And in grade 12, that’s when you really know who your REAL friends are. They are the ones who still stick with you through all the shit. And it’s also the grade where you meet new friends, for temporarily anyways. There’s a high chance that I might not see most of my high school friends a lot after I graduate, maybe once in a while, if somebody has a birthday party or something, but everybody’s going to move on.
Anyways, that’s it for the sentimental note.
FYI: For those who have yet to experience Edmonton with a car and friends, make sure you know where you’re going. If you don’t, you’ll get lost. Easily. Stupidly, if you miss one exit, you’ll have to go on for 10 minutes before being able to re-route. It’s stupid, Edmonton should really get some better signs and roadways. I’ve accidently went to the army base and the airport in the same day because of it.
And BOTP: ‘For this Cycle’. It’s a solo artist, and he’s from Singapore, but he’s pretty good.
Anyways, that’s my two cents on things.

High School Romances .. are pointless. + Oilers Preseason CGY + NYI.
Nothing to fall back on except for the friends, friends that care for you, the ones that are there for you from the lowest days, to the highest days to comfort you.
Then there's the "that" ... yeah the short lasted, albeit blissful high school relationship, the one that most people have encountered.
Something i have recently discovered, however it is something i have already given up on.
It hasn't even hit the dawn of two months yet, however i wish to persevere to keep it afloat.

Guitar Review
I don’t really know what to ramble on right now, since this post is a rush job trying to fill our quota, (yeah, we’re THAT devoted to this thing). We pour ourselves onto the internet for you guys who actually read this. I’m curious as to whom y’all are, but we already love you.
! Idea. Howabout a quick guitar review?
Alright, so I’m looking for a new guitar, and one that really caught my eye is a ‘Simon & Patrick’ guitar. More specifically the Woodland/Satin series models, and even more specific, the CW spruce and the CW folk. I’m more of an folk acoustic guitar player than I am a classical guitar player, so I’d be looking for a guitar that has somewhat more of a twangy sound, and sounds a little harder than your average guitar.
So far I’ve been impressed by the CW spruce a lot. I haven’t actually tried the CW folk (with pickups and electronics) a lot before, so I can’t give my opinions on it. But the cutaway spruce is amazing. For starters, the neck is the perfect size for my hands. It’s not too big, nor’ too small. It gives my hand a break from holding larger necks. If compared to another guitar, it’d be a little smaller than the Art and Lutherie cutaway spruce.
In general aesthetics, the guitar is VERY nice. It’s a lot nicer than a lot of other ones. It doesn’t have a shiny finish on it, but it’s a rather dull finish. It gives the guitar a really nice look. Be careful not to scratch it though, it has that waxy feeling, so something would probably come off. The colours they come in are incredibly nice. I’ve only seen 3 different colours, which are black, brown, and a creamy brown? I think that’s what you’d call it.
The sound that comes out is great. Although it’s just spruce, the guitar sounds better than most spruce guitars. The wood is thicker, so therefore, the sound is ‘thicker’. I don’t know how to explain it, so I won’t. It just sounds better. I guess that’s it for the guitar.
I promise my other guitar review won’t be this shitty in the future. It’s my first review, so I don’t really know what to say about them.
BOTP: Okay, this part of the blog I can’t miss. A lot of people like the new bands I choose out, so I’m not going to screw up this part. For this post, the band is ‘Daphne Loves Derby’. These guys are unsigned, so support them guys. Their website is http://www.myspace.com/daphnelovesderby so check them out.
Anyways, that’s my two sense on things.

Oh, Comrie & Rookies
That, and the (maybe?) surprising signing of Mike Comrie to a 1 year deal worth 1.125 mil, and Ms. Duff is running around doing charity work around town ;O . Amazing isn't it, someone who not only isn't complaining, but is doing charity work at that.
What does this mean? Well Nilsson, and Schremp may have lost their chance at trying to gain a spot, however this may mean a trade is coming up, whatever that trade may be, we still have to see.
Training starts tomorrow with medicals, and with scrimmages on Sunday, with the first exhibition game on Tuesday vs. the Flames.
Also some notes on the two rookie games ( though primarily on the vs nuck' rookies, as i missed the majority of the Bears game )
- Mucha, was solid in net vs the Canucks, tracked the puck well and had good lateral movement, and was fairly quick. Pitton on the other hand failed to impress, did a few risky puck handling moves, along with letting in all the goals of that game, didn't seem to trust him in net.
- Prout undrafted fellow, big strong, had a nice shot, nice coverage. Surprised he didn't get drafted, would give him a contract. He held his own.
- Johan Motin, really impressed by him , quite the mean streak throwing a number of hits, and beating numerous players 1v1 using force and his stick, his skating is fluid as well, rushes out of the zone with poise and a good pass, despite being acclaimed for having no offense whatsoever.
- Eberle, very good game scored 2 goals and an assist, he made things happen, though his skating i found wasn't superior nor was defensive coverage.
- Kytnar made a few good defensive plays, had good offensive chances too meshing well with Eberle and Cornet to form the first line.
- Cornet good on the forecheck, energetic player that rushes into the zone and has a decent shot , hoping he'll make the WJC's.
Also i'm hoping of getting some hockey done this winter, i can play in all positions, however on ice i do not feel comfortable ice skating yet.
Need to invest in a good pair of skates that will mold and won't kill my feet .hehe
Goalie is also a possbility since i enjoy that position very much.
CD Review 1
This is their second album, which has so far been impressive to me. I’m not sure of the sales amounts because that information isn’t available yet.
I think this album is pretty good, but not as good as the first CD. In their first CD they established their own sound, which was a mix of catchy guitar riffs and nicely places falsettos. I thought anyways.
This time, they came back with some of the same stuff, but had A LOT of experimentation on this one. The vocals changed throughout, and the music style changes a lot. While taking a quick through of the CD once again, I found that 4 songs out of the 11 do NOT sound like the old BLG, because of the musical discrepancies on the tracks. They include ‘She’s got a boyfriend now’, ‘Shot Heard round’ the world’, ‘Real Thing’, and ‘Contagious’.
The other tracks are great, they have the same sound us Boys Like Girls fans are looking for, Martin’s high hitting falsettos, and best of all, the same catchy pop-rock catchiness. They have a few slower paced songs on this CD as well, and also one of my favourites, ‘Two is better than one’. ‘Two is better than one’ features Taylor Swift on the track, so it sounds A MILLION times better, not to be biased or anything. But her voice harmonizing against Martin’s is just awesome, orgasmic almost.
Attacking their single Love Drunk, I don’t think it’s all that great, because it doesn’t feel the same as a normal Boys Like Girls song. The only thing I absolutely love about the song is the second part of the chorus, where the lyrics goes as so: “‘Cause just one sip / Would make me say”. The vocals hit the perfect notes here, in a falsetto as well (Yeah, I’m a sucker for awesome falsetto’s). But that’s the only extraordinary part of the song. If I were to choose a single off their album, it’d be ‘Chemicals Collide’, since it sums up the album nicely. It has the same sound as they usually do (good to impress BLG fans) and still attract the same type of fans.
The 4 songs I mentioned had another sound, and I believe it’s because the band wanted experiment a little. ‘Real Thing’ has an 80’s feel to it, which means it kind of sounds like 80’s rock. But the band can’t really do it well in my opinion, so they should stray away from it. ‘She’s got a boyfriend now’ kind of sounds like a Cartel song that I’ve heard before. I can’t remember which one, but it’s from their first album (only album?). It sounded nice, so I think if they keep trying this style out, they should. ‘Shot heard round’ the world’ has a PURE pop feel. I don’t like how they’re almost “selling out” on this song. I love the original Boys Like Girls sound, so I think they shouldn’t get too much into the pop realm. And ‘Contagious’ is a good song as well. It has a more of the We the Kings feel, rather then a BLG feel. But it’s all good.
In all, I’d say you should definitely give this album a checkout, whether on Youtube or anything else. And you should most definitely buy it if you like the original Boys Like Girls.
I'm now adding a new thing to the end of my blogs now. It's going to show a new band each post. These bands aren't that big yet, but in time I HOPE they'll be. It'll be BOTP (Band of the post).
The first band of the post will be The Bigger Lights. Check them out at www.myspace.com/thebiggerlights
Anyways, that’s my two sense on things.

Dammit. -_-
Also i got my new toys in today ;D :

Toys:
3 x Gelid Silent Fans .. 37 CFM at 20.2dba & 1000 rpm .. $3.54 each pricematched.
1 x Dual Green Cathodes Kit. GREEN LIGHT FUCK YEE. $4.42 pricematched.
1 x Sunbeam Rheobus 4 ch. fan controller, self explanitory, looks sexy too. $12.33 pricematched.
1 x random ass fan with no markings or anything .. pretty damn strong airflow .. going to go into my power supply. $FREE.
Heheh.
So these are things to go to ballin up my computer. However i'm in a dillemna of whether to get a new case or not. My antec 900 ain't bad, but it ain't great. Cable management is a joy (sarcasm).
Thinking of a new case that provides good airflow, decent looks, black interior, and good cable management, heck toolless capabilities is a bonus too. TWO cases have piqued my interest:
http://ncix.com/products/index.php?mode=productreviewread&product_id=41741&review=1
The Midgard W, though i can get it pricematched to about $100 or so, this case looks nice, the front however sort of bothers me, the fans are sexy though, and good cooling and cooless capabilities. Downsides are: tooless PCI clips are a bit shoddy, and the CPU HSF backplate on mobo tray is a bit small.
Also another case, which no doubtedly be hard to get, and lots of people are going to get their hands on is: http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=41147&vpn=PC-K62&manufacture=LIAN-LI
Not in stock it's quite an innovative case with many, many great features, i would outline it but i would rather point you to the splendid review done by hardware canuck's FiXT.
Haha there's a bit of case + accessory insight for you computer geeks ~!

Sonic Boom!
So ‘Sonic Boom Fest’ was super great this year, I was up on the rails (almost) for all of it except Billy Talent. I got to see Dallas Green sing and play guitar. That was probably one of the most memorable moments about it. Another thing I got to do was crowd surf, in which I needed 3 attempts to get across the rail. I think it was during Surrender by Billy Talent. The first attempt I asked random people to lift me up and throw me around, in which they kindly responded to it by just throwing me up. Luckily, some people caught me before I was dropped (I think I moved 3 metres, only 3 metres). Then as soon as I fell, I asked the closest male to lift me. He didn’t since he really thought I was injured, so I asked another guy. He did it, but didn’t throw me up, he lifted me up instead, and I got about 2 metres this time before getting dropped. I was getting pretty pissed. After I fell, I was helped up by a fellow schoolmate who really never thought I was somebody to do that kind of stuff. So I asked him to throw me up one last time. This time I actually made it, but only because there were SO MANY PEOPLE that I couldn’t even fall even if nobody was trying to carry me. It was pretty great actually, I kicked 20 or so people in the head, they looked PISSED. I almost lost a shoe.
Another thing mentionable that happened to me today was that during Alexisonfire and Franz Ferdinand, I realized PEOPLE ARE ASSHOLES. The whole time, during both of the concerts, I was trying to not lose my spot in the second row. Eventually I lost it in Franz because of some fat prick. Literally. He was probably 350 pounds, and he was pushing me, a mere 130 pounds. That’s like using a semi, pulling a herd of cattle, to push a Honda Civic into the other lane. It’s just unfair. Eventually, I got back into the second row behind a small Asian. It made watching the concert easier after that, all I had to do was just hold onto her.
Going to this concert made me realize that people are assholes and that John Locke is retarded when he said that all people are reasonable, rational, and intelligent. The concert totally proved him wrong since so many people just wanted to be at the front themselves, and pushed through crowds and crowds of people just go get there. They even pushed an old lady with a walker down (although, I don’t know why there would even be an old person with a walker watching the concert anyways. I didn’t know Grandma listens to Alexisonfire or Franz Ferdinand) just to get there. They even pushed and pulled a 3 foot kid from the railings away from it, just so they can be there. Honestly, you can see over that kid just fine you fat, tall prick. So John Locke, you were wrong! People are definitely not reasonable, intelligent, and not at all rational. Only some.
For the music portion of the concert, I’d have to say the best bands today were ‘The Wet Secrets’, ‘Ill Scarlet’, ‘Franz Ferdinand’, ‘Billy Talent’. I’ll tell you why in the next paragraph. Metric was okay in my opinion, just cause. Their set was really good, they played their hits in a good order, and mixed in the other songs in the middle. But I wasn’t really a fan of them, so it’s a little biased. But I can tell you why I don’t like them. The lead singer’s voice is really airy, gives a really vintage record feel. The guitarist had way too many guitars for the set, and the bassist was quite useless throughout. Alexisonfire was great, but not amazing. They played their best songs, but George Pettit (lead vocals) sounded pretty bad today. He didn’t hit the correct pitches throughout the entire set. I wasn’t impressed. Dallas (as usual) was amazing.
Since the post is getting a little long, I’ll just say that the other bands were phenomenal, and that Wet Secrets impressed the hell out of me. The only thing the band needs to work on is get their marching in sync, since one of them turned the wrong way from the rest of the band. I think I’m the only one who noticed it. Also, the lead singer of the band needs to learn how to look at the audience, since all he did was just sing DOWN into the mic.
Anyways, thats my two sense on things.

School, Stuff, Hockey.
Upstairs is too hot, downstairs too cold. One upside is at least with the jack hammer outside my chem class the chairs vibrate, so it's like sitting in a massage chair all class. Yay.
Class has started out well, at least somewhat good. I mean i have a pretty damn light schedule.
I get to fuck around alot. Lots of time for that (: , it's nice having only 4 classes that matter.
So decided to order some computer parts, 3x Gelid Silent 12 fans, they looked sexy, and were a good price so i ordered a few, along with a fan controller ( Sunbeam Rheobus, 4 channels ), and a dual green cathode kit. All i need is a new case. Fan slots, window, quiteness. It'll be a breath of fresh air. Though i do need get in a new fan into my power supply, it's annoyingly annoying, and loud.
[Oilers]
So hockey season is about to start up sooner or later, pre-season moreless in a couple weeks. So with news breaking out Schremp has been just resigned to a 1 year 2 way deal it'll make me ponder if sugartits really has it in him. The guys skating is weak, and defensively .. so bad that if i gave him a GPS he'd still be lost. Though depends if he was legitimately working his ass off this summer he might win a forward spot on the big team, however other guys such as Stone, Potulny, Brule, and Pouliot are competing against him as well. We'll see what Sugartits got in him, hopefully him, Nilsson, and Penner actually come to camp in shape.
Prospects update:
Loving our Euro prospects, though Toni Rajala is still injured, don't count out Magnus Pajaarvi-Svensson , he's back in action after his little squad incident, even cashing in 2 goals vs Brynas in a preseason game just yesterday.
Now to my favourite Euro prospect... not Omark, not Rajala, but yes .. Teemu Hartikainen, who is criminally underrated, the guy may lack footspeed, but he's a leader, big and strong.
He's scored well against men as an 18 year old in the SM-Liiga where in 08-09 he captured the rookie of the year award.
Also in the just finished Czech Republic vs Finland game ... where Finalnd won 4-2 .. Hartikainen has a goal and an assist, he is a monster player. I see a player in this kid.
